1. Introduction

Welcome to QuoteFlow, a motivational quotes app designed to inspire you every day. This Privacy Policy explains what data QuoteFlow ("we," "our," or "the app") collects, why we collect it, and how we use it when you install and use our Android application.

QuoteFlow is developed and maintained by Suresh Peddimsetti. This policy is consistent with the information declared in the Google Play Data Safety section for QuoteFlow.

QuoteFlow does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information. However, like most modern Android apps that use analytics and diagnostic services, we do collect certain device identifiers and usage data as described in detail below. By using QuoteFlow, you acknowledge and agree to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. This policy is publicly accessible within the app and on the Google Play Store listing.

This app is intended for users aged 13 and older.

2. Information Collection and Use

QuoteFlow does not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or phone number. However, we do collect certain device identifiers and usage data as required by our analytics and crash reporting infrastructure — this is fully disclosed below.

2a. Device Identifiers Collected

To power our analytics and crash reporting services (Firebase), we collect the following device identifiers:

  • Android Advertising ID (AD_ID): A resettable device-level identifier assigned by Android. We collect this identifier for analytics segmentation, to measure unique app installations, and to manage frequency capping for future ad integrations. Users may reset this ID or opt out of personalization at any time via Android Settings > Privacy > Ads.
  • App-Instance ID: A Firebase-generated identifier tied to a specific installation of QuoteFlow on your device. This is used to distinguish unique users in aggregate analytics reports and is reset if you uninstall and reinstall the app.

While the app does not currently display advertisements, we collect the AD_ID in preparation for a future ad-supported tier powered by future third-party advertising partners. When those features go live, this identifier will be used to serve relevant ads and manage frequency capping. This collection is disclosed now in accordance with Google Play's AD_ID policy.

2b. App Usage & Diagnostics

  • Device Information: Operating system version, device model, and technical hardware details collected by Firebase.
  • App Activity: Usage events such as screen views and feature interactions (e.g., categories opened, quotes viewed). This data is aggregated and is not linked to a personally identifiable profile.
  • Crash & Performance Diagnostics: Crash logs, stack traces, and performance metrics collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us identify and fix bugs quickly.

2c. Locally Stored Data (Never Transmitted)

To provide a fast, offline-ready experience, QuoteFlow downloads a compressed quote data file from our servers on first launch. This file is extracted and stored locally on your device. All subsequent quote browsing reads from this local copy — no network request is made each time you browse quotes.

Your saved favorite quotes are also stored exclusively on your device using Android's built-in storage. This data never leaves your device and is never accessible to us or any third party.

3. App Permissions & Usage

To provide core app functionality, QuoteFlow requests the following permissions from your device. Each permission is used strictly for its stated purpose in compliance with Google Play's Limited Use policies.

Network Access (Internet)

Used for two purposes: (1) to download the compressed quote data file from our servers on first launch, enabling fully offline reading thereafter; and (2) to securely transmit encrypted diagnostic data (analytics events and crash reports) to Firebase. No personally identifiable information is included in these transmissions.

Post Notifications

Used strictly to deliver opt-in daily motivational reminders. Reminders are scheduled entirely on-device at a user-defined time and frequency, and can be disabled at any time in Android Settings or within the app. No notification open rates or interaction data are tracked or transmitted.

Set Wallpaper

Used to apply a selected quote image to your device's lock screen, home screen, or both, when you explicitly tap the "Set as Wallpaper" button. This permission is automatically granted by Android and does not prompt for user approval. The app only writes to your wallpaper when you initiate the action — it never changes your wallpaper in the background or without your direct interaction.

No sensitive permissions beyond those listed above are requested. QuoteFlow is engineered to operate with the minimum necessary level of device access.

4. Third-Party Services

QuoteFlow integrates the following third-party SDKs and services. Each service's data collection practices are governed by their own privacy policies, which we link to below for full transparency.

Currently Active Services

  • Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC): Used to collect aggregated app usage data — including app-instance IDs, AD_ID (where available), screen views, and feature interactions — to help us understand how QuoteFlow is used and to guide improvements. Data is processed and stored by Google and may reside in any country where Google operates data centers. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC): Used to collect crash reports, stack traces, and device state information at the time of a crash. This data is used solely to identify and resolve bugs and improve app stability. Firebase Privacy & Security.

Future Integration (Disclosed in Advance)

  • Third-Party Advertising Partners — Planned: A future version of QuoteFlow may include an ad-supported tier. When this feature is enabled, we will integrate one or more third-party advertising SDKs that will use the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID) to serve relevant ads and manage frequency capping. The specific ad networks and links to their respective privacy policies will be listed in this section once those integrations are live in the app. We are disclosing this intent now to ensure full transparency in our Google Play Data Safety declaration.

We do not sell your data to any third party. Data shared with the above services is used only for the stated operational and analytical purposes.

5. Children's Privacy

QuoteFlow is designed for users aged 13 and older. The app does not collect personal identifiers from any user.

Any non-personal technical data collected for analytics and diagnostics is aggregated and used solely to maintain app stability and improve the user experience. This data is not used to identify individual users, nor is it used for profiling or advertising.

6. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of QuoteFlow after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

7. Data Security & Data Deletion

We take the security of your information seriously. All data transmitted to third-party service providers (including Firebase and any future advertising partners) is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS/SSL protocols. Locally stored data — including your offline quote database and saved favorites — is protected by Android's built-in application sandbox and your device's operating system security features.

Data Deletion

Because QuoteFlow does not use user accounts and does not collect direct personal identifiers (such as names or email addresses), we have no way to isolate and delete the analytics records of a specific individual upon request. This is consistent with how Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics operate with anonymous device-level identifiers.

However, you have full control over your data through the following actions:

  • Reset your Analytics ID & Delete Local Data: Go to Android Settings > Apps > QuoteFlow > Storage > Clear Data. This will permanently delete all locally stored quotes, favorites, and app preferences, and will cause Firebase to generate a new app-instance ID on next launch.
  • Reset your Android Advertising ID (AD_ID): Go to Android Settings > Privacy > Ads > Reset Advertising ID (exact path may vary by Android version). This resets the AD_ID across all apps on your device.
  • Opt out of Ads Personalization: Go to Android Settings > Privacy > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization to instruct all apps on your device, including QuoteFlow, not to use your AD_ID for personalized advertising.
